Dear Mother and Family,
Received your three Airgraph letter in one compact very satisfying bunch, folks, and you’ll be glad to hear they all arrived in the magnificent time of just three weeks.  Bolly good show, Eh? As this will probably arrive long before my last surface-mail letter my latest hideout is in Lincolnshire not far from Gainsborough where we’re being weaned onto the big jobs. Ian’s we week-end in the scout camp reminds me of one we had there a few years ago when it rained all the time, and the damper we cooked was very damp.  Must have been quite good to see Jeff again after his trip up North.  I’ll bet he had a few tales to tell – will be writing one of these to him soon.  P.S. and also to Nigger. Incidentally, Mom, I must have given you the wrong idea – we haven’t got a car yet, but I’m thinking of it.  The others seem to go more for motor-bikes, so thus, folks, you received that begging cable for £20, despite all my previous resolutions—which sort of didn’t allow for a car, in the curriculum.  If I don’t get one I’ll just leave it in the Bank here and use it to bring afew knick-knacks home for one and all.  Seems that we get quite a bit of leave on “Ops” and a generous allowance of petrol – which is a good thing.  Please thank Mrs Wicks and Mrs Boase and families for their regards and return mine.  Love to Grandma and Aunts and remember me to the Uncles too.  Guess I’ll be running out of paper soon, Mum, so I’ll close now wishing you all the best and love to all

Love Sid xxxx
